Listen to an album that was pulled exclusively for us to offer to you, dear listeners, from the electronic rarities chest of our dear supporter Chris Phinney aka Mental Anguish, directly from his acclaimed label Harsh Reality Music. This is a reissue of a classic of his that was released 18 years ago and it is the firecracker Evidence, which he performed with the support of some artists from the underground scene, at the time of its release, who provided sound sources for the album. We start with the brilliant track by Mental Anguish that gives the album its name, with arpeggios and enveloping beats in high tones and very pleasant. The next nine tracks follow, and these tracks traverse many styles of electronic music with beats spanning acidic and killer sounds, booming breakbeats, furious drones, visceral melodies and many other badass timbres. This style is no longer played by Mental Anguish these days, as he now does Ambient and Dark Ambient.

Dots of silvery sound, gently falling, scattering and shimmering: the dialogue of slumber itself, who like a child, laughs, muses, plays, wonders and teases, poking fun at those who are merely awake. Bell-like realisations, a language not comprehensible and only understandable when sleep covers the senses. The strange logic of sleep speaks on this album and I can listen in on the mechanics of dreams. Maybe I should drift off while listening to this...but what will the music say to me? The Vast Wilds
